Who We Are

Why I Started Working Windows

It all started with my dad. When I was starting out as a joiner, working alongside him on the tools, I watched him fix a door for a customer that looked completely beyond saving. He worked his magic, and within no time it was sliding perfectly like it had just come off the showroom floor. The look on that customer’s face stopped me in my tracks. Pure disbelief. Pure delight. Like they’d just watched someone pull off the greatest card trick they’d ever seen.

I wanted to create that feeling for people for the rest of my life.

That moment planted a seed, and the more I worked in the trade, the more I realised something that most people don’t know: you almost never need to replace a window or door, you just need someone who knows how to fix it.

That’s where Working Windows was born.

What we do saves our customers thousands of dollars, keeps perfectly good doors and windows out of landfill, and takes a fraction of the time of a full replacement. A few new rollers, the right adjustments, a bit of know-how passed down from a father to his son, and suddenly something that felt broken feels brand new again.

I genuinely love coming to work every day. There’s something deeply satisfying about turning up to a problem that’s been stressing someone out, solving it efficiently, and leaving them wondering why they ever thought they needed to spend a fortune. Every job is a little puzzle, and every happy customer is that same look on my dad’s old customer’s face, all those years later.

That’s why I do what I do. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

We Take Real Pride in Every Job We Do

At Working Windows, quality craftsmanship isn’t something we learned overnight; it’s been built over a lifetime.

It all began in Germany, where I discovered a passion for windows and doors, mastering the trade from the ground up. That expertise made the journey to Australia a natural next step, landing first in Sydney, where years of contracting work sharpened every skill and raised the bar even higher. From there, I built my own installation company, growing it over five successful years and earning a reputation for getting the job done right.

But life has a way of calling you toward something new. When my wife and I decided it was time for a change, we followed our hearts to the beautiful Byron Bay region. Teaming up with business partner Jake, the focus shifted to something the local community truly needed: honest, reliable window and door repair done by people who genuinely know their craft inside and out.

Today, Working Windows brings decades of real-world experience right to your door. Whether it’s a stubborn window that won’t budge or a door that’s seen better days, you’re in the hands of tradespeople who have worked with windows and doors their entire careers.
