Meet Jake – Founder of Working Windows

Jake’s story begins in Bulli, NSW, working alongside his father as a cabinet maker and joiner. While building kitchens and wardrobes honed his skills, it was a simple sliding door repair that shifted his focus. After watching his father restore a door that others had written off, Jake saw the value—not just in the repair, but in the principle: thoughtful, skilled work that lasts.

That moment sparked a passion. Since then, Jake has built Working Windows into a trusted name in door and window restoration, combining traditional know-how with modern efficiency. Over the past 11 years, he’s mastered everything from glass cutting and timber repairs to sourcing hard-to-find hardware.

Today, Jake works with families and homeowners who care about quality, sustainability, and keeping their homes functioning at their best. Whether it’s a heritage sash window or a stubborn aluminium sliding door, his approach is the same—practical, professional, and precise.

Toby

Meet Toby –"I started working with windows and doors at 19, learning the trade in Germany and getting hands-on from the start. A few years later, I made the move to Sydney, where I became the first sponsored installer for a leading company. It was a big step, and one that laid the foundation for everything that followed.

After earning my permanent residency, I opened my own window and door repair business in Sydney. Over five years, I built a strong reputation for honest work, reliable service, and quality repairs that last.

Throughout it all, my wife has been my biggest supporter—always encouraging me to take the next step and backing me through every challenge and change.

Eventually, we felt it was time for a new chapter. I reached out to Jake, we made the move to this beautiful coastal area, and now I get to do what I love in a place that feels like home.
